The route will be very interesting!

Tour program

Tbilisi – Akhaltsikhe– Rabati – Vardzia – Borjomi – Tbilisi

07:00Meeting

The guide and driver will meet you at the appointed place and time in Tbilisi to begin our adventure.

The journey along our route Tbilisi – Borjomi – Vardzia – Akhaltsikhe (Rabat fortress) – Tbilisi starts from our office. We depart from Tbilisi towards Borjomi. Throughout the day, our Russian-speaking guide will tell you everything that relates to the places you will visit and pass, as well as everything connected with Georgia, its rich ancient history, its people and traditions.

Akhaltsikhe-Rabati

First we will visit the city of Akhaltsikhe, where there is a completely restored, and perhaps the most beautiful of all fortresses in Georgia – the medieval fortress of Rabat. The history of the foundation of the fortress goes back to 1578, when the city of Akhaltsikhe was taken by Ottoman troops, and from 1628 it became the center of the Akhaltsikhe pashalyk.

On the territory of the Rabat fortress there is a museum dedicated to the Russian-Turkish War of 1828-1829.
After a walk and inspection of the fortress, we leave the city of Akhaltsikhe and continue our tour of the sights of this region of Georgia.

Vardzia

The next point of our tour will be Vardzia.
Vardzia – a cave monastery complex of the 12th-13th centuries in the south of Georgia – an outstanding monument of medieval Georgian architecture
This is one of the most popular cave cities – monasteries in Georgia. Just in case, let us remind you that there are 2 more similar attractions: Uplistsikhe and David-Gareji.
So, we are in Vardzia – a 19-tiered rock city. For 900 m along the left bank of the Kura, about 600 rooms are carved into the steep wall of the mountain – churches, chapels, residential cells, storerooms, baths, treasuries, libraries. Secret passages, remains of the water supply and irrigation system have been preserved. Vardzia is a monument of the Golden Age. More than a thousand monks lived in the monastery of the fortress, and during an attack by enemies, up to 20 thousand people could take refuge in it.
To explore this monastery, carved into the rock, there are several excursion routes, including one more extreme. In addition to the fact that the Vardzia complex itself is of great interest and a wonderful object for photography, frescoes from the 12th century have been preserved in the Church of the Assumption. with images of King George 3 and Queen Tamara..

Borjomi

After visiting the cave city, we go to Borjomi. Borjomi has gained worldwide fame thanks to its mineral water sources. Borjomi mineral water ranks first on the list of Georgian exports.
One of the active sources is located in the Borjomi National Park, where you and I will take our next excursion. There are more than 200 historical monuments in the Borjomi region: fortresses, churches, monasteries. Among them, the Palace of the Russian Romanov Tsars, built at the end of the 18th century, stands out.

Gombori Pass

After so many impressions and emotions, we return to Tbilisi.

All the way you will be accompanied and entertained by a professional guide and driver.

I promise that you will want to come back to us again! We will be very, very happy for you!
